Whitehaven Beach

Whitehaven Beach is the most beautiful beach in the world, and a only short flight from Hamilton Island! A small group of us took a scenic flight and got to stay there for a short hour before heading back.

The plane was small and I kept bumping my head on the roof.  Luckily there wasn’t much turbulence though we were shaken around a few times!  We arrived after just under 10min and the landing on the water was very smooth.

The sand was really white and ridiculously bright even in the 9am sun.  The water was crystal clear, but there was no coral close to the beach.  It was the first time I’d been in the water for many years so I didn’t want to swim too far out and risk being on the evening news…

Yes, Whitehaven Beach is the most beautiful beach I've seen in Australia
It is worth flying over in a seaplane or helicopter for a view of Heart shaped reef too

Yes, it would have been great if we could spend more time there! Looked at the helicopter flights, they're so expensive!!
